There’s a lot of property around Westwood these days. We know that.
So rather than tell you this one is “perfectly positioned” or “ideal for modern family living” and hope nobody notices we’ve said the same thing 400 times before, here’s why we think this particular one works.
For starters, it sits on a corner plot.
That might not sound terribly exciting, but it actually makes a difference. You get extra space to the side, useful rear access and, quite simply, the house feels a little less hemmed in than many around it. It has a bit more presence on Castle Drive.
Inside, it’s a well-proportioned three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in good condition. Nothing terrifying needs doing. Nothing is screaming out for a skip on the driveway.
Then there’s the garden cabin.
And this, for us, is probably the clever bit.
It could be a proper home office, a treatment room, studio, therapy space, nail room, beauty room, creative den or somewhere to disappear to when your ninth Zoom meeting of the day finally breaks you.
It gives the house an extra dimension that a lot of similar homes simply don’t have.
Location-wise, Castle Drive carries a Margate postcode, but in reality you’re pretty much slap bang in the middle of Thanet. Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate are all easy to get to, while Westwood Cross is moments away for supermarkets, shops, food, coffee, gyms and all the other things we apparently can’t survive without now.
Will this be the most architecturally exciting house you’ve ever seen?
Probably not.
But corner plot, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, useful garden space, a brilliant outside room and vacant possession?
Suddenly it starts making quite a lot of sense.
